Fitness enthusiast and reviewer from Berlin

The Short Version

I go by Mia Schneider, based in Berlin, and for the past few years I’ve been chronicling my journeys through gyms around Germany.

This site came about after too many occasions of selecting gyms from ads or dubious suggestions, only to find the truth didn’t match the hype. I sought precise, candid details about what these venues were truly like. When such information was unavailable, I chose to build it myself.

Over a dozen Gyms Visited
About three Years Active
Well over two hundred Classes Attended

How This Started

My workout routine kicked off at a modest gym close to Kreuzstraße 17 Fitness Center in Berlin. It wasn’t flawless, yet it was reachable, economical, and it helped me stay steady.

When that gym shut down, I watched the fitness landscape in Germany change rapidly. New facilities emerged, fresh ideas appeared, and advertising grew louder than what members actually experienced.

I started testing diverse gyms and classes, taking notes after each visit. Gradually those notes evolved into this site, designed to help others make better-informed decisions.

My Approach to Reviews

Each review here stems from actual visits and time spent within the facility. I emphasize practical aspects that matter when selecting a membership.

When I review a fitness center, I typically:

  • Allocate sufficient time to grasp routines, peak times, and trends
  • Visit across various days and times
  • Try multiple training styles and instructors
  • Use facilities regularly to assess cleanliness and comfort
  • Speak with fellow members about what stays reliable and what doesn’t
  • Take notes right after each visit

I refresh reviews when notable changes occur—renovations, changes in management, price shifts, or new amenities. Every article displays its most recent update date so you can gauge how current the information remains.

What I Look For

My priorities may differ from yours, so here’s what I consider most important when assessing a gym:

Comfort and Privacy: Does the space seem thoughtfully laid out for members, with boundaries respected and a peaceful vibe?

Equipment Quality: Are machines well-kept, is there sufficient variety, and are repairs prompt?

Crowd Management: Is it possible to train at your chosen times without endless queues?

Clean Facilities: Locker rooms, showers, floors, and equipment surfaces. Cleanliness reflects how seriously the leadership takes member experience.

Honest Membership Practices: Transparent pricing, straightforward rules, and no unexpected charges.

Beyond the Gym

Beyond the gym and this writing, I reside and work in Berlin. This project aims to simplify and clarify fitness choices for those seeking the right setting.
